HOW TO ARRIVE

Guanacaste Airport (LIR) is the main port of entry from outside the province. Just 5 minutes from the start line of L'Étape Costa Rica 2024 and 15 minutes from the center of Liberia. More than 500,000 tourists from 20+ destinations enter North America and Europe each year.

If you drive from San Jose, Route 1 and Route 27 are the best options to get to Liberia.

EAT & DRINK

Guanacaste’s customs and traditions are recognized nationally. Guanacaste gastronomy includes rosquillas, arroz de maíz, sopa de tortilla, chorreadas y buñuelos bañados en miel, among many other delicacies.

In addition, tiste, vino coyol, chicheme and pozol are traditional drinks.
